Supporting Alaska Fishing Communities
Our vessels spend two winter months in Washington state where they utilize Puget Sounds’ extensive network of shipyards and maritime support businesses for annual repair and maintenance. Then from mid-January through mid-November, our fleet fishes the bountiful and pristine waters of the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands and Gulf of Alaska. Throughout this 10-month period, our vessels make over 475 port calls in 11 Alaska maritime communities to deliver processed seafood for shipment to international and domestic markets, take on fuel and provisions, conduct repairs and switch out crew members. Our fisheries and port calls support thousands of jobs throughout Alaska and generate millions of dollars for the State of Alaska through fishery taxes assessed on our catch.
